Uploading photos to your account from your computer
Just follow these steps to add photos from your computer.
  1. From your main albums page, hover over the Upload button at the left side.
  2. Click the "Upload from my computer" link in the menu that appears.
  3. Next, either create a new album for your photos or select an existing album.
    • If don't have any albums or want to create a new one, click the button next to "Upload to a new album." Then, add an optional album title. Click "Edit album details" if you'd like to edit the album date or add a description.
    • If you're uploading to an existing album, click the button next to "Upload to an existing album." Use the menu options to find the album, and then click the cover photo to select the album.
  4. If you want, you can edit your upload settings. Click the arrow next to "Upload preferences" to customize your preferences. Then, click the "Select photos" button to continue.

    Note: If you're creating large prints, photo books or other gifts with your photos, we recommend using "Full resolution" for the best results. See our recommended resolutions page for more details.
  5. Next, you will see a directory to search for and select the photos you want to upload. Select all the photos you want to upload, and then click "Open" to start uploading.
  6. You will see a progress bar tracking your photos' status as they upload. To add more photos to your current upload, click the "Select more" button.
  7. Once all of your photos have uploaded, you will be taken to a new page. From there, you can view your uploaded photos, share your album, upload more, or order prints of your photos.

Uploading photos to your account from Facebook
Just follow these steps to add photos:
  1. From your main albums page, click the Upload button at the left side.
  2. Click "Import from Facebook" in the menu that appears.
  3. A new window will open asking you to authorize Payless Daily to link to your Facebook account. Click "Allow" if you want to continue, or "Don't allow" to cancel.
  4. If you're not logged in to Facebook, you may need to enter your log in name and password.
  5. Next, select the photos you want to import.
    • Click an album at the middle of the page to open it and then click each individual photo you want to import.
    • Click "Select entire album" to choose all the photos in an album.
    • When you've selected a photo, it will have an orange checkmark on it and appear in the selected photos column at right.
    • To de-select a photo, click the gray "X" in the thumbnail image in the selected photos column.
    • To select photos from a different album, use the links at the left side of the page to find the one you want.
  6. When you're done selecting photos, click "Import photos."
  7. You will be asked to agree to Facebook's terms of use. Click "Agree" to continue.
  8. Choose the album you want to import your photos to, or create a new one. Then, click "Continue."
  9. You will see a progress bar as your photos are importing. If you want to cancel, click the "Cancel Facebook import" link.
  10. You will see a new page when your import is done. Once your Facebook photos have been imported, you can view them, create prints and gifts, share them, or import more.

Uploading photos to your account from Instagram
Just follow these steps to add photos:
  1. From your main home page click the Upload button, or from the albums page, click the Upload button at the left side.
  2. Click "Import from Instagram" in the dropdown menu that appears.
  3. A new window will open asking you to log into your Instagram account. If you do not have an Instagram account you will need to open one and populate that account with photos to use this service.
  4. If you're not already logged in to Instagram, you may need to enter your log in name and password.
  5. Next, select the photos you want to import.
    • Click on the photos that you would like to import individually, or you can select all photos by using the Select all feature that's located in the upper right.
    • When you've selected a photo or photos, it will have an orange checkmark on it and appear in the selected photos column at right.
    • To de-select a photo, click the gray "X" in the thumbnail image in the selected photos column.
  6. When you're done selecting photos, click "Import photos."
  7. You will be asked to agree to Instagram's terms of use. Click "Agree" to continue.
  8. You will see a progress bar as your photos are importing. If you want to cancel, click the "Cancel Instagram import" link.
  9. You will see a confirmation page when your import is done where you can view the photos you just imported, share your photos, or order prints.
  10. Once your Instagram photos have been imported, you can view them, create prints and gifts, share them, or import more.

Adding info to your photos
Adding a caption to a photo
  1. To begin, single-click the photo to open it.
  2. On the next page, hover over the photo's name at the right side of the page. You will see a text editing field appear when you hover over it.
  3. Click the text field.
  4. Type in your caption.
  5. Hit the "Enter" key to save it.

Adding a description to an album
You can add a description to any album of your albums. Here's how:
  1. Single-click on an album to open it.
  2. Below the album name and date, it will say "Add a description." Click on that text and an empty field will appear.
  3. Type your album description in the field and then hit enter to save it. Album descriptions can be up to 150 characters long, including spaces.

Adding a photo to Favorites

Once you add a photo to your Favorites, it will be saved in both the original album and your Favorites album.

  1. Single-click an album to open it.
  2. Click the heart icon next to the photo you want to add to your Favorites. The heart will turn red.
  3. To remove it from your Favorites, just click the red heart again.

Adding and viewing comments for an album
During checkout, if you have images from a digital camera that uses a 3:4 aspect ratio (height to width ratio), you will have the option to order True Digital prints instead of a standard 4 x 6 prints.

To view comments
Scroll down to the section just below the photos called "Album comments & share history" (see below). If you only see the section label, click the triangle next to it to expand the section. If the album already has comments, you will see them listed by date with the most recent at the top. Longer comments are shortened up a bit to save space - click "Read more" beneath a long comment to read it in full.

To add a comment
Click in the box below "Add your comment" and type in your comment. When you're done, click "Add comment".

To delete a comment
Click the "X" at the top right corner of the comment to delete it (see example below). If you're the album's owner, you can delete comments left by anyone. If the album doesn't belong to you, you can only delete your own comments.

To disable commenting
If you're the album's owner, you can disable commenting by clicking the "Disable commenting" link. This will not delete the comments, but friends will no longer be able to view or add comments.

As the album owner, you will still have access to your album's comments, even if it is disabled. Please note that changing the comment settings applies only to the album you're working in. It will not change the settings on all your albums.

To restore commenting
If you've disabled commenting, click the "Allow commenting" link to let your friends to view and add comments to your album again.

Note: In this area, you can also keep track of people you've shared the album with in the "Share History" section on the upper right of the screen (see example above).

Adding tags to a photo
You can tag the people in your photos so that they're easy to find. Faces that appear clearly in the photo will be automatically detected, but you can also add other face tags manually.
  • Start from 'My Photos' page. Single-click the album you want to open in the display of album covers, or select the album from the menu on the right.
  • Select a photo and then click the pencil icon that appears.
  • Click "Add tags" in the menu that opens.
  • A pop-up will open. Type the person's name in the text field.
    • Separate each single-word tag with a comma or a space, for example: Summer, friends, wedding.
    • To create a tag with more than one word, put the entire phrase within quotes, for example: "2010 trip to Madrid", "Adam's graduation".
  • Click "Add tags" to save it.
Once you've added that person to your tagged people, their name will be saved as an auto suggestion for the future. Their name will also appear as a category in the menu on the left side so that you can quickly find all of the photos they've been tagged in. For scenic shots or other photos that don't have people in them and aren't auto-detected, you can add tags with event or location names.
  1. Start from 'My Photos' page. Single-click the album you want to open in the display of album covers, or select the album from the menu on the right.
  2. Single-click a photo to open it.
  3. Click "Add event tags" at the left side of the page.
  4. A pop-up will open. Type the tag in the empty text field.
    • Separate each single-word tag with a comma or a space, for example: Summer, friends, wedding.
    • To create a tag with more than one word, put the entire phrase within quotes, for example: "2010 trip to Madrid", "Adam's graduation".
  5. Click the "Add tags" button to save your tags.

Deleting
Deleting a single photo
To permanently delete any photo from your account, follow these steps.
  1. Single-click on an album to open it.
  2. Mouse over the photo you want to delete.
  3. Click the pencil icon to open the "Edit Options" and select Delete. (see right)
  4. You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete that photo. Click the "Delete" button to permanently remove it from your account.
When you delete a photo, it will also be removed from any friends' accounts you've shared with and projects you've used it in.

Note: You can only delete individual photos from your own albums. If you are viewing a friends’ album, you will not be presented with the option to delete an individual photo. You may "delete" a whole album that a friend has shared with you, but this only removes them from your account. It does not affect your friends' album itself.

Deleting an album

  1. From your main albums page, click on the album you want to delete.
  2. Click the trash can icon that appears below it.
  3. You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete that album. Click the "Delete" button to permanently remove it from your account.

Editing
Copying and moving photos
  1. To copy or move a photo or photos, first open the album.
  2. Select the photos you want to copy or move.
  3. If you have selected more than one photo, hover over the "Edit Options" menu at the upper right of the album screen (like below left) and click 'Copy to..." or "Move to...". To copy a single photo you may also use the pencil icon that appears when you hover under each photo thumbnail.

  4. In the popup that opens, click the album you want to copy or move the photos to, or click 'Create a new album'.
When you are done. The album you chose, or the new one you created will open.

Editing a face tag name with the photo organizer
  1. To change a face tag name, first open 'Your albums' page by clicking 'My Photos' at the top left of most pages.
  2. Then expand the 'Faces' section in the left menu and click the checkbox next to the name you want to edit. The filtered results will display in the main panel, with the Face tag name at the top left.
  3. Mouse over the name and click within the box that appears.
  4. Replace or edit the name.
  5. To save, click anywhere outside of the text box.
You can use this feature to consolidate or merge your face tag names. For example, if you've misspelled someone's name, you can follow the procedure to correct the misspelled version, and all the individual photos will be tagged with the corrected name.

Editing a photo
  1. Editing options for a single photo To begin, click the photo to select it.
  2. Next, click the pencil icon just below the photo to see your options (see right).
  3. Choose what you'd like to do: rotate, add tags, edit, delete, set it as the album cover or copy or move it to another album.

    Note: Choose "Edit" for more options including tinting; color correcting adding a border, or removing red-eye from your photo.
  4. A new page or pop-up will open where you can make your changes.

Editing an album date
  1. To change your album's date, hover your mouse over the current date in the album header. A blue highlight box will appear around the date.
  2. Then click into the field and a calendar will open.
  3. Navigate to the month, day and year that you want and click to select it.

Editing an album name
  1. To change an album name, first open the album.
  2. Then hover your mouse over the current title at the top left of the page. A blue highlight box will appear around the text.
  3. Then click into the text field and type your title.
  4. To save, just hit the 'Enter' key on your keyboard.

Editing photos in an album
  1. Editing options for multiple photos From the main photo organizer page, single-click an album to open it.
  2. If you want to edit multiple photos, select the photos that you want to edit.
    1. Next, hover over the "Edit Options" menu near the top right side of the page (see menu right).
    2. Choose what you'd like to do: rotate, add to favorites, tag, caption, edit or crop, copy, move or delete the photos etc.
    3. A new page or pop-up will open where you can make your edits.
  3. If you are viewing a single photo, you have slightly different options, as shown below. Hover over the pencil icon and select any changes you want to make for that photo. Any changes you make will only happen for the photo you are viewing. Editing options for a single photo

Rotating photos with the photo organizer

From an album page:
Because rotating photos is a popular operation, we've made this available in a two places on the album view pages:
  1. To rotate a single photo, click the pencil icon under each photo thumbnail (see right) and choose "Rotate left" or "Rotate right."
  2. To rotate a group of photos at once, click on each of the photos you want to rotate. Hover over the "Edit Options" menu at the upper right of the album screen and choose "Rotate left" or "Rotate right" (see below left).

Ordering
Downloading high-resolution copies of your photos
  1. Editing options for multiple photos Select the photo or photos that you want to download and then click 'Download' from the 'Edit Options' menu in the toolbar (shown right).
  2. On the next page, you may select additional photos from the album by clicking the checkbox next to each one and then clicking, "Choose these photos".
  3. If you want to include photos from another album, click "Choose another album".
    • Click the checkbox next to the album containing the photos you want to download and click "Open this album".
    • Select the photos by clicking the checkbox next to each one and then click "Choose these photos".
    • You may repeat these steps to include photos from other albums.
  4. Once you have chosen all of the photos you would like to download, click the 'Continue' button. We will place your photos into a single .zip file for you to download. It may take a moment to create the file.
  5. When your file is ready, click the 'Download now' button. If your browser asks where you would like to save the file on your computer, please note the file location so you know where to find it later.

    Please note: Do not close your browser or go to another site while your file is being created or downloaded. It will stop the download and you will need to select your photos again.
Tip: If your browser does not open .zip files automatically, you can use free software such as WinZip for Windows or Macintosh or StuffIt Expander for Macintosh. There are links to both on the download page.

Once you've downloaded your high-resolution photos and unzipped the file on your computer, you can view them, edit them, and print them, using your own software and printer.

Ordering photo gifts with the photo organizer
  1. Select one or more photos.
  2. Next, hover over the "Create" menu at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the name of the photo gift you want to create.
  4. You will be taken to either the product page or the store page, where you can start creating with your photos. If you're making a book, card, collage gift, or anything with multiple photos, you will be able to add more photos later.

Ordering prints of your photos
  1. Click the cart icon under each photo you want to print
  2. A confirmation message will appear indicating that it's been added to your cart. When you're ready to check out, click the shopping cart icon at the very top of the page.
  3. You can adjust quantities and sizes on the cart page.

Searching
Searching for photos

To find photos, type keywords or tags in the "Search for..." box at the left side of the page and click the arrow button.

Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your search:
  • If you're looking for a specific name, put the keywords in quotes, like "Tahiti vacation"
  • Once you've got your results, check the category boxes at the left side of the page to narrow them down
  • Tag your photos after you upload them, and use tag names when you need to search

Selecting

First, open the album with the photo you want to select. Then, click on it once to select it, and click again to de-select it.

First, open the album with the photos you want to select.
  • To select more than one photo at a time, hold down the Control or Apple key and click each one with your mouse.
  • To select multiple photos in a row, hold down the Shift key and click the first photo on the left. Then click the photo on the right (or the next/last photo in the sequence that you want selected).
  • Hold down the Control or Apple key and click a photo to de-select it.
Once you've selected photos, you may do many things with them using the icons above the photos, including share them, start a new project, or copy/move them to another album to name a few.

Sharing
Sharing albums, and photos

To share an album, or photo, follow these steps.

Share one or more albums
  1. From your main albums page, select one or more albums to share.
  2. Hover over the "Share" button above your albums and click "Share albums" in the menu that appears.
  3. Follow the rest of the steps below under "Choose the recipients."
Share a single photo
  1. From your main albums page, single-click on the album that has the photo you want to share and it will open.
  2. Single-click the photo to open it.
  3. Hover over the Share icon at the top left of the page.
  4. Click "Share this photo" in the menu that appears.
Choose the recipients
In the pop-up that opens, follow these steps:
  1. Enter new email addresses
    In the "To" field, type the email addresses of friends you want to share with. Separate each address with a comma.
  2. Select addresses from your address book
    If you want to enter addresses from your Payless Daily address book, click the "Address book" link. A pop-up window will appear. Check the recipients you'd like to include, and click the orange "Choose addresses" button.
  3. Decide whether you'd like a copy of the email
    Check the box below the recipients field if you would like to receive a copy of the email sent to your friends.
Your friends will see only their own email addresses in the "To:" portion of the message, not those of the other recipients.

Write a message

When you share a photo or album, we include a standard subject line in the email we send on your behalf. You can write your own greeting that'll be included along with instructions for viewing your photo, or album.

Send it to your friends

Click on the orange button, and we'll email the invitation to the recipients you've chosen.

On the page that follows, you can return to your photos by clicking on the "Back to photos" button.

If you share a single photo, we give your friends full access to it, which means they can copy it to their account and re-share it with others.

Sharing to social networks

When you share a photo or album to your social network or blog, a thumbnail image and a link to your photos will be displayed on your page for your friends to see.

To get started, follow the steps above for selecting a photo or album. Once you have selected a photo or album, follow these steps to share it to your social network or blog:
  1. Click the 'Share to...' tab on the share popup.

  2. Click the icon for the social network or blog where you want to share your photos.
  3. You'll be asked to log in to your social network or blog account. Follow their prompts for sharing your photo or album.

Sorting
To rearrange photos, follow these steps:
  1. Single-click on an album to open it.
  2. Click on the photo you want to move and hold the mouse button down.
  3. Drag it to a new spot in the album and release your mouse button (a blue bar will appear at places you can drop it, so you can place the photo before or after other items in your album).
Note: You can move multiple photos at the same time, too. Just click on all the photos you want to move and follow the same steps above.

Sorting photos in albums

To sort photos, follow these steps:
  1. Single-click an album to open it.
  2. Click the "Sort" dropdown menu above your photos to see your options. You can sort by newest first, oldest first, alphabetically, or upload order.
  3. Click the option you want and your photos will be automatically sorted.
You can also rearrange the photos in your albums by clicking on the items you want to move and dragging them to a new spot.

Viewing
Viewing a photo or album
  1. Start from 'Your albums' page.
  2. Single-click the album you want to open in the display of album covers, or select the album from the menu on the right.
  3. Choose a size for viewing. Look for the Sizes icons at the top right side of the page and click on the small, medium, or large box.
  4. To open a single photo in that album, just single-click it.
Note: There are 3 other ways to open an album:
  1. Click the album name (a link is just below the cover photo when you hover your mouse over the album).
  2. Click the magnifying glass (this also appears when you hover your mouse over the album).
  3. Click the album name in menu on left of the screen.
